Clocking up 60 combined years of retail experience

Retail, and its many functions, is in our DNA. Every day we research, create, facilitate and enable it, so it’s only natural that our talent pool should come from a strong retail background.

Over the last few months our new recruits throughout the Swan Group have brought with them many years of respective experience from the full retail spectrum – an impressive 60, to be precise.

Here’s the breakdown:

Wendy Jannaway who has joined Swan as a project manager has 13 years’ experience as an IT/new projects manager at bedroom furniture and linen experts Feather and Black. Wendy managed the IT department and all systems upgrades for the 30M turnover company.

We welcomed Penny Koon who joined our US team to head up support training and FRS implementation, she has 21 years’ experience within the American furniture industry. Having formerly project managed operations for 52 corporate stores and 15 independent warehouses. Along with her wealth of local and industry knowledge Penny has an in-depth understanding of the finer points of SwanFRS, having implemented the system to a great many retail stores and warehouses.

Gemma Williams clocked up a mighty 21 years at Debenhams, beginning her journey in a management training programme and progressing to department manager, operational manager, merchandise manager, deputy store manager and finally store manager. She joins Swan as our new customer service manager looking after the help desk, technical services and HR.

Sarah Scott, our marketing manager and in-house copywriter came to us after a five-year stint at family brand Joules. Adept at writing for the B2C market she brings with her an understanding of the current retail climate.

To de-code retail and to support our clients within the business we know how important it is to understand the industry in which they operate.  Having a talent pool with relevant, useable experience gives us a leading edge in creating solutions that really work.

Here’s to 60 more years, ladies!
