The Problem

With an increasing amount of business going through its website - and plans to start an entirely new web store venture - the owners found they were spending more and more time on manual fulfilment and stock management processes. Although they already had an effective web store package at the front end, it lacked the ability to extend into warehouse and stock management, purchasing from suppliers and all the necessary order fulfilment functionality as well. In fact, it was thought that any new web venture was problematic until the appropriate back end systems were in place.


The Solution

Lights4Living were already running Sitemakers' Liquidshop package for their web store, so integration with this was one of the key factors in their decision. Although Sitemakers had interfaced to a number of systems, it was Swan's level of expertise and their dedication to a standard approach to the integration that really set them apart - all the more so once it was established that the Swan system could meet the functional needs of the business with just a few minor modifications.


The Result

Store operations and warehouse management have been transformed by Swan's core stock and EPoS modules, with customer ordering and delivery management similarly enhanced, while the web store integration provided everything Lights4Living needed for the operation of their online business.

Managing director Richard Hathaway immediately benefitted from the much reduced demands on his time and the automation of the purchasing alone is expected to save at least £10,000 a year. Swan's training and the people who delivered the project also earned generous praise and Lights4Living is confident that its new system will make an ongoing contribution to reducing costs, improving efficiency and increasing profitability.
